My 1 year old dog “Po” (Bernese Mt dog) started suffering from skin infections (aka skin allergies) and went on to having 11 months of non stop hot spots and skin infections to the point of throwing every medication, steroid, medicated shampoos and sedatives just to get them to stop…but nothing worked. He was SO itchy all the time he was miserable!!! I took the advice from my trusted friend and breeder Valerie Haverfield to try Dyna Pro and Showdown Pro. I was skeptical because I work in the vet industry and I know how difficult allergies are to control in dogs, especially since we can’t test for food allergies (no accurate form of testing available) but at this point I was willing to try ANYTHING! So I purchased these two products and followed the “performance dog recommendation” and after about a month of using these products I decided to bathe him. What I saw after drying him was beyond words. His coat for the FIRST time since this all started, was shiny!!! The areas he lost hair were growing back and he looked just all around almost like a normal dog…before his coat turned dull and almost grey and coarse feeling. It felt smoother and just all around like things were looking up! Then a few more weeks passed and even with allergy season staying for trees and pollens, he was less itchy! He’s been on it 6 weeks now and with the itch barely noticeable and his coat is continuing to grow back I’m more than sold on these products. He also stopped gaining weight during that time and has stayed around 95lbs so I figured that was his adult weight. I weighed him today and he’s a whopping 109lbs! The vet checked him out and said he’s all muscle (we exercise quite a bit) but the point is, he’s absorbing nutrients better, to the point he’s putting on healthy weight…I believe healing from the inside out is a really important factor with these allergy kids and these products are where it’s at. I also had skin testing on him and he is allergic to outside pollens and grasses and in the pacific NW that’s a big problem for a lot of dogs and people…so the fact that we’re currently in allergy season now and he’s improved this much is beyond words!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart dynamite and Valerie my dog has gained his quality of life back!!!
