The series of social media posts below were about a horse owned by Rita R., named Bianca, who was rearing, striking out, defensive and frantic. With some positive training, patience, Dynamite nutrition, and an owner who was willing to listen, Bianca is now doing great!

“I wish I had videotaped our trailer loading with Bianca. From fearful, crazy scared, shaking – hard to load (not with me) to her choosing to go in all by herself. Yes. No pressure. No running (I would have allowed her to if she needed to but she didn’t. ) trust. Thoughtful. Mindful. One step at a time. Breathe. Touch the ramp- touch the sides of trailer. I backed her out. We need a good backup too. Then she walked in all by herself. Lots of reward jackpots. And she backed out on her own. All done with positive reinforcement. Sounds airy fairy magic?? Nope. (Well, I do use fairy dust sprinkles with love). Just allowing her to choose and have a voice. And I supported by rewarding her try, her little tries. Bianca is a different horse today emotionally because she is learning to trust. Bianca has a voice and Rita R., her owner, is listening. I’m so proud of both of them.”

“This was yesterday in the Minnesota cold. Bianca is really making progress. She has had some challenges over the last several months but with great training with Jen Gruber, change in nutrition with Dynamite and lots of patience, we are now partners.”

Bianca!!! Here she is again. The last time she had to trailer load to the vet was a long process of frantic running around outside and I can’t go in for 2 hours. She was defensive, scared and it was quite scary. Then I started working with her with trailer loading and used positive reinforcement training. What a difference this made for Bianca. Such a huge turnaround. Today Bianca can’t wait to get into the trailer. I am so proud of Rita R. and her mare Bianca. Calm. Thinking. Responsive. Yes, I can!!!”
